Alfonso Rogers joins Headstrong as the Eastern Region Director of Development. Prior to joining Headstrong, Alfonso led development and fundraising at the Veterans Empowerment Organization, building their fundraising, volunteer program, marketing and brand awareness in the Atlanta community. Alfonso’s passion for serving the military community comes from 16 years of wearing a flight suit. Alfonso served in the United States Air Force & is currently serving in the Air Force Reserves as an enlisted Loadmaster. He has participated in OEF, OIF, Operation New Dawn and most recently Operation Allies Refuge, helping to evacuate over 100k Afghan refugees. Alfonso has over 3.5k hours in the C17-A and has deployed 4 times. He has completed his undergraduate degree at The Citadel, graduating Magna Cum Laude, with a degree in Sport Management in 2016 and served as Student Veterans of America, Citadel President. He went on to work in sports, where he had a chance to participate in the MLS Cup Final, The Super Bowl and the first Concerts in the Mercedes Benz Stadium. He also was an inaugural member of the Overwatch Fund in the Arthur M. Blank Foundation, designating over $1M dollars to Veteran non-profits in Atlanta.
Alfonso graduated from Georgia Tech, with his MBA in May of 2021 with a concentration in Finance and Leadership. He is currently the President of GTMAG, unifying the Georgia Tech military community to include ROTC programs, Student Veterans of America, and esteemed alumni. Alfonso has a wife, Crystal Rogers, and two son’s Kory (15) & Karter (8). Alfonso enjoys running, officiating high school sports and has aspirations to officiate collegiate sports at some point.
